Exhibition ‘Subida al cielo’ by Lúa Ribeira at Trobades Camus, Menorca, 3—28 April 2024

“Rethinking the World” is the motto of this new edition of the festival Trobades Camus and we are thrilled to announce that the exhibition ‘Subida al cielo’ by Lúa Ribeira has been included in its program.  

The Trobades & Premis Mediterranis Albert Camus project the image of a cultural Menorca, a host port for debates, dialogues and ideas that can help create a space for coexistence rooted in social justice and based upon mutual knowledge and the respect that this generates.

This is how the Trobades & Premis Mediterranis Albert Camus have become an annual rendez-vous of international thought leadership, with Albert Camus as their humanistic beacon.

The exhibition ‘Subida al cielo’ by Lúa Ribeira will be on show as part of the festival at Sala d’exposicions Sant Antoni, Maó, Menorca, from 3 to 25 May 2024.

As the artistic director Sandra Maunac states, this new edition “it’s about rethinking the world, to reduce the proportion of falsehoods and hatred. ‘Neither fear nor hatred, that is our victory,’ declared Camus. This is a task that is not solely the responsibility of politicians and journalists, but concerns all of us. Far from abstraction, it involves being honest, through words and through life, to do what Camus calls ‘a man’s work.’ It also means giving up, for humanity, grandiose utopias, and patiently building a ‘modest utopia’ for each and every one of us.”
